Lobster Truck - Art Print
Lobster Truck - Art Print
An 8” x 10” print of a gouache painting original.
A bit about this piece:
Yes, Nova Scotians buy their lobster from the back of a truck. We have long been conscious of the fairness of seafood and lobster, especially. We want fair prices for our fishermen and now more than ever we are asking who both historically and today has access to fishing licenses and livelihood fisheries? I painted this because I like bright signs and odd scenes, but also because that even while growing up in Ontario, our lobster feasts were a connection to my father's Nova Scotian upbringing and this scene connects me to those roots. But I know that this image will represent more than that to many people.
I’m so appreciative that more voices are being considered when we talk about fairness in the fisheries, that First Nations fishermen are fighting for fair access to a livelihood fishery that for too long has been denied to them.
Prints are packed in a clear protective sleeve with an acid free backing board and mailed in a firm mailer.
